And so, over the years, the Brewery operated in various circumstances, integrated into the city landscape. It experienced the times of glory and decline, and first of all, underwent numerous reconstructions and reorganizations. In 2001, beer production was stopped, and the brewery was closed, but the centuries-old brewing tradition has been alive in this place to this day.

Nowadays, the Hevelius Brewery and its restored buildings Director’s Villa, Drying House, Engine House and Brewhouse as well as the cellars once built from bricks made in Gdynia Kolibki bring back the history of this place. Today, exposed in full glory, just like high ceilings and old cast-iron pillars, they enrich the interiors and emphasize their character.

The Hevelius Brewery is owned by the family company PB Górski. The facility is managed by the couple: Martyna Górska-Popielarz and Marcin Popielarz, who, while developing the place, got inspired by the figure of Jan Heweliusz – a prince of astronomers, outstanding citizen of Gdańsk and a brewer. In the process of developing the concept, they had in mind the idea of preserving the historic character of the former brewery, and at the same time opening its doors to anyone who craved for relaxation. And since brewery means something different to each of us, the offer of the Hevelius Brewery is wide and rich. Everyone will find something for themselves.

BThe Hevelius Brewery is the result of the owners’ previous experience in the hotel and catering industry, which is best reflected in their other facilities: Quadrille Relais & Châteaux Hotel with the White Rabbit Restaurant in Gdynia and Leśny Dwór with the Biôłi Trus Restaurant in Sulęczyno. And everything developed with respect to history, tradition and cultural heritage, with care for the guests and their well-being.
